A “sensitive” who speaks to the dead, deceased or those who have “crossed over” from the physical, to the ethereal realms. A medium can accomplish this by any number of different mechanisms, including using channeling, meditation, “voice” mediumship (where the voice of the discarnate spirit will actually come through) and much rarer talents like materialization mediumship. (where a medium purportedly can bring forth the “ghost” of someone who has crossed over to the other side.
Most mediums are “normal”, in the sense that they are similar to the sort of people you see on TV, like John Edward, George Anderson, and other famous psychic celebrities. The mediums who “channel” and do more exotic sort of stuff like that, are typically called trance mediums and are NOT the sort of psychic you will find on a telephone network or even your local psychic fair. (or at least not where I live..:-)
Are all psychics mediums?
Absolutely NOT. The truth is that genuine mediumship is rare, and most psychics who field phone calls, or take personal appointments are simply “sensitive” or empathetic or to the emotional energy of others. Typically, love or relationship psychics fall into this category, as do finance, career or other similar style advisors.
It doesn’t mean one is necessarily “better” than the next, but is IS extremely important to know the difference. Trying to get an “ordinary” psychic to contact a deceased loved one is NOT the approach. And often, some of the best mediums are not the best “psychics” either, as they are far better at connecting with spiritual energy, than they are in offering career or love advice as well!
