TAROT CARDS MEANINGS Archives

XVI The Tower

the_towerThe Tower is one of the most impressive and amazing Tarot cards. Usually it’s meaning is confused with the first impression of the picture tarot readers see. Typical interpretation of this card is that it’s “scary” and “unlucky”. Nothing further from truth.

Of course the card looks dark and scary but please remember that there are as example a lot of “dark” paintings of Rembrandt and even so… they are beautiful.

The Tower card first and the most important meaning is, that sudden change is coming. Sudden- does not mean “bad”. If you can recall the story about Babel Tower (from the Bible) you will realize that God has destroyed the tower and confused people’s languages… but on the other hand he has created new cultures and possibilities. It was a kind of sudden and brainstorming action made by Him.
Lets look at this card from a different than typical point of view.

Just imagine someone you might know… this person gets a job. After a while it is clear that this job is not for him. He starts to hate it but does not change it. He tries to persuade himself to thinking that he “has to do that” because he has to “pay bills”, “be employed”, “it’s difficult to get the job” and so on…
The situation seems to be unbearable but this person does not change anything and finally it becomes just a habit. Awful habit- going to work everyday. Finally after a while the boss of company fires him. Everything seems to be a failure. Everything is shaken and seems to be destroyed. But is it a true?
Not exactly. This person we are talking about gets the chance to change his life for better. This is a kinf of final warning. Final and sudden solution to the problem. He hasn’t made this choice by himself so Higher Sources have sorted it out this way. Now the point is if this “unemployed” man can see his chances or not. He can focus on the problem or say “that is good- now I have to find something better finally”.

This is the most important meaning of The Tower card. Something has to be destroyed sometimes in order to make space for good things to happen. Sometimes we need to loose something in order to win. Sometimes we need to be on the edge to realize that our path was not clear.

There is another important meaning. Very creative. The Tower is about getting enlightenment and revelations. The Tower card is about getting messages and answers to questions we ask. The Tower brings solutions and ideas.

As example- if you want to discover the truth- you will get it. If you want to finally understand something – you will have a “hunch”.

If you are a writer and you are looking for some great ideas- they will come to you.

The Tower is about outcome of our conscious efforts. It brings many kinds of discovery and understanding. The Tower brings “EUREKA!” to your life. Nd it usually happens in the moment you do not expect. It is up to you if you focus on sudden change or it’s purposes.

Good suggestion for anybody getting this card could be:

“Look what’s good behind the problem which happens to you” or “look for what’s good behind that change”.

Another example. There is a couple. There is no love. The situation is not to good. They split. They become depressed and loose their self confidence. But there is another way. They can make conscious choice and think “it’s finally solved! Now… what is good for me in that all?”.

This is the main “background” of The Tower card. This affects other less important meanings.
Of course The Tower card slightly changes it’s meaning in relationship to other cards in your spread. But the most important thing is- THIS IS ONE OF THE MOST CREATIVE CARDS BETWEEN OTHER TAROT CARDS.

XVIII The Moon.

the_moonThe Moon card, when you see it for the first time and you do not know it’s value, might look not so friendly. This is the first impression which may happen to you when you do your first readings.
This is the trick of The Moon card. It is a kind of illusion.

This card is somehow unusual because it’s meaning is not direct and as clear as the meaning of other cards. Why?

If you think for for a moment about our culture (western especially)… we are afraid of dreams, revelations, hunches, premonitions and predictions. We are afraid of looking inside of our souls. We are somehow unable to see the reality as it is because we have a tendency to reject everything what does not match our ‘logical’ expectations and beliefs.

Let’s use an example. You are alone. You look for someone… and it seems that no one wants you. As soon as you find someone to love you realize- that there are a lot of other ‘possibilities’ around you. It seems that other men/women are interested in you.

Let me use an another example. You fail in business. You try to recover. Try hard… and everything seems to go wrong. Then something happens. First success and then another one and another one.
This is a kind of The Moon experience. The reality is a little bit different sometimes than we believe. Does it really mean that no one wants you? Does it really mean that you are unlucky? Not exactly.

Your perception dances around feelings like that. Your mind is trying to prove you that you are unlucky or lucky, no one wants you (or opposite). Your mind is looking for coincidences proving your actual state.

The Moon card suggest that sometimes it is quite good to try to look at everything from a different point of view. The city during a day looks differently during a night. The problem if you change the way you look at it may become a creativity trigger. The obstacle may become valuable lesson. Difficulties may become valuable points helping you to adjust your plans.

The Moon is all about adjustments. The Moon is about touching sources you haven’t touch before.
If you use logical thinking then The Moon suggests that it could be nice to try to follow your intuition. If you follow your intuition that it could be good to try to use your logical thinking.

Different points of view. Trying new ways and new approaches. Sometimes it requires some patience and effort and reevaluating your beliefs. Sometimes it is just looking at everything from a different perspective.

The Moon is a great card because it shows the learning process. Learning which starts when we are born and never finishes. The Moon says that we should always try to improve what we have and try what we did not try. That we should learn from our mistakes and make adjustments every day.

If we do not learn and are stubborn with our thinking that we ‘know how the world looks like’… we are just tricking ourselves. It is like pretending that radio waves do not exist because we do not see them. It is like pretending that the world is always dark…

The Moon stands against any narrow mindedness. It stands against any one-way thinking.

It suggests that we should try our best to think ‘out of the box’ because this will give us fulfillment. This can give us power. This can give us understanding.

But unfortunately… how many people you know who can really approach their life from different angles? Not so many. The Moon suggest to be one between others.

The Fear of creativity, looking deeper is so common… that is the reason that first impression of The Moon card makes people feel afraid. The Moon does not bring fear. The Moon brings peace. But usually the first reaction is caused by fear of unknown.

BRAVELY FACE THE UNKNOWN. This is a good key word for this card.

I The Magician

the_magicianThe Magician card seems to be the most powerful and beautiful card of the Tarot deck.
This is an “action” card.

The Magician represents people and situations surrounded by the great energy of the Higher Sources. It brings power to create and animate everything what our mind can think of.

There is no limitations. There is only power which is used with the purpose or misused. There are only limitations which he created.

If you look at The Magician card you will notice that the man seems to achieve. He seems to get what he wants and he seems to know what he wants and how does he want to achieve that all.

The Magician brings a power to attract abundance. The Magician brings the power to organize all tasks, visualize and make it real. The Magician brings solutions.

When The Magician represents someone in your reading it means, that this person is creative, committed, powerful and intelligent, or on the other hand- this person can be creative and powerful. It means that this person has all skills needed to achieve his/her goals. It means that this person has a ‘hard-wired’ power to materialize and manifest desires. This person has a power to destroy limitations or create them…

The Magician card suggests that somehow we are gods of our life. We have control and we should focus on a good use of those powers. The Magician can attract his dreams and make them real. But the trick is, that he is able to attract good things and bad things as well. So as soon as he knows what he is doing- he can create his world more consciously.
The Magician is conscious. He is learning from his mistakes. He is learning from mistakes of other people. He gathers knowledge and uses this knowledge to get what he wants. He always tries to understand more what is hidden within his soul. He looks deeper and uses what he can use.
When something does not work for him- he tries something else as example: if arguing does not work – he tries negotiation. When talking does not work- he tries silence. He is always looking for solutions.

The person represented by The Magician card in your reading might be a person who is The Magician already and knows it- or is The Magician but is not conscious of the sources of his/her power.
In this second case this person needs to focus on maintaining the control over dreams, expectations and thoughts. Literally. If the person is afraid of something- there is a power which make those fears bigger. If this person expects bad outcome… it is likely to happen. But if this person has a great dreams- it is likely that they will be achieved. So the best way suggested by The Magician is to redirect the mind to thoughts and expectations which are powerful and energizing. Even with some force if needed.
Even by telling to the inner voice ’shut up’.
When bad expectations appear in mind- The Magician suggests replacing them with colorful and energizing visualizations. The Magician uses his imagination and learns how to use that. He knows, that imagination can be controlled and he uses whatever possible to maintain this control.

In general- The Magician represents power to create. We can not create anything until we know what we want to create. And The Magician knows that we expect ideas- they will come to us from Higher Sources. The Magician represents power to control the situation. Whatever happens- the source of all things comes from within The Magician. He knows that his life does not happen to him. His life comes from him.
The Magician has a Midas Touch. He is able to turn things around and get advantage of them. He knows that problems can be solved and that those problems are valuable lessons for the future.

VI The Lovers.

the_loversThe Lovers card is strongly related to attraction, sensual and sexual desires. This card has a lot of other meanings but this one seems to be the most powerful.
There is a power of attraction and power to manifest what is the most desired.
Let’s use a few examples. If this card represents a person you are reading cards for it usually means that this person is attracted to someone, will find sexual satisfaction or strong, fulfilling and exciting relationship. In some cases it means that this person may be looking for fulfillment in this aspect of life, is looking for love or partner. This card brings manifestation of desires of this kind.
There is no limitation for this card. There is no limitation for sexual potential. It does not matter what is our situation and who we are. Power of The Lovers card breaks barriers. It gives us solution.

If as example the person represented by The Lovers card is looking for a good partner- he/she will find it soon. If this person is looking for a sexual partner (or even partners) this card says that he/she will find it pretty soon. If the person is looking for a friendship only- this card brings sympathy and friendship.
In general context this card is full of love of any desired kind. It just suggests that it will happen.
The Lovers card power brings such fulfillment or achievements in unexpected way. What comes to the person can not be planned or scheduled. Somehow the beauty of The Lovers card is that ‘love’ will just come up, appear, manifest in a moment you do not know. So that is the reason why so many people experience meeting someone in strange places like shop or in the bus.

There are several other meanings of this card. The Lovers is related to choices. Not only moral choices but choices in many colors. The Lovers suggests, that the represented person will face great choice and will have to choose. It might be sometimes difficult to make choice between two exciting possibilities but there is a solution. Feelings appearing because of The Lovers card power will guide this person. The choice will become a perfect one. It is not important what the person is choosing because either choice is perfect. In this case it could be good to ask inner guides for suggestions. It could be pretty smart to follow intuition which is boosted by The Lovers card.

In existing relationship this card suggests getting closer. The possibility to improve the relationship.
If the relationship is gone… this card brings new possibilities.
The Lovers suggests that in many cases we will just go into the direction of pleasure and fulfillment.
When the marriage is almost finished- The Lovers suggests that the new love will appear and replace bad feelings. If the relationship starts it suggests improvement and getting closer.
Of course the meaning of The Lovers changes slightly in relationship to other cards but usually in a positive way. The Lovers card is one of the strongest cards in Tarot and usually influences other cards (in that order).

With some practice you will start discovering more creative and emotional meanings of The Lovers card.

The Lovers is a card of emotions and feelings. Look for feelings and ask how does they influence the situation of the represented person. You will find the right way.

VII The Chariot.

the_chariotThe Chariot

The Chariot card represents successful people usually. If you look closer at the picture you will see a man who is a master of races. He seems to ride really fast, with strong self confidence and power. He seems to be brave, adventurous and having pleasure with what he is doing. The Chariot is all about strong, confident, fast and powerful decisions. Is about seizing the day and achieving goals. The Chariot represents powers to manage our life, manage our finances, powers to get what we want.
The man appearing on The Chariot card has unlimited control over two sphinxes representing black and white powers. The Sphinxes represent good and wrong. He has power over them. He does not use any force. He is confident and intelligent. When he is riding very fast he is making some adjustments in order to omit obstacles and the most important is that after making a decision – he does not look back. He makes another one and another one. Because he knows where he is going and he knows that loosing energy on reconsidering mistakes does not work to well in his case.

If The Chariot card has to represent a person you are doing a reading for it means, that this person has all those powers inside. This person can make a lot of valuable decisions and keep his/her life under total control. These powers are hard wired although sometimes they just have to be discovered and improved. This card suggests that a person represented in your reading can manage his/her life. This person is able to be right and in many cases it is enough to just notice that it’s possible.

In some situations The Chariot card suggests that the solution to the problem will come after making some decisions. It says that procrastination, delays shouldn’t take any place. Fast and confident decisions- that is the way of The Chariot card towards solutions.

The Chariot card is about achieving our goals which are the outcome of clear vision. The more detailed and clear the goal is the better. Sometimes it requires putting more attention to our goals. Improving our vision. The Chariot man knows what he wants. So the key word for this card could be “know what you want and go for it”.

This card is strongly related to financial issues. It bring power and control over those matters. If you want to open a business- this card is assisting and supporting your idea. If there is no money in your pocket- this card says that you will find sources if you speed up and do not stay in the same place.

This card suggests getting advantage out of all days in your life.” Seize the day. Do not wait. Go for it.”
The Chariot says words like that!
