What are your thoughts on psychometry?

Psychometry is the ability to ‘read’ the history of certain objects by holding the object in your hand or touching them. (Yes, I’ve been watching the Dead Zone, it’s on TV tonight.)
So do you think it is possible? And is there any credible scientific evidence to support its validity?

yes, it is absolutely possible and does occur.
scientific evidence? not really. I think there was some testing but it was not signifigantly conclusive enough to merit any attention.
it really comes down to just a gift of being able to communicate and perceive one’s environment.
as real as evolution

I love psychometry
and there are many theories on how it works
tapping into the universe , tapping into our own intuition , or spirit , tapping into the residual energy of an object ( my fav )
but I have seen it work all too often to doubt it

I do this with my class often
the best results I have had , have been with photos
I put a photo inside an envelope and ask then to tune into it
some of my students have gave the description of the photo exactly
others have given information concerning either the person in the photo or the person that the photo belongs to
some have even tuned into spirit so I ask them to put down the photo in those instances , as they aren’t allowed to hold anything while giving spirit information ( legalities )

but fascinating all the same
Sure is…look into Edgar Cayce and reading auras,and Kirlian photography…The photos showing phantom outlines of complete leaves after the leaf is torn…I think Cayce could see outside normal range for human eye…
I do think it is possible, but I would say very few can do it.

I don’t know about scientific proof, but I attended a Psychic Development class and experienced not only others doing it form me but also getting the chance to do it myself.
I had given several ‘readings’ that were extremely accurate. But of course, I also had several that were off by miles!
It is interesting though, definitely worth just a try once at least.
I think a more accurate term for it would be Chronic Relocation Awareness Phenomenon.
Then it would have an acronym that suits it perfectly.
I’ve not seen any credible research to back it up… but it sure would be cool…

This site talks about how past events might be “recorded” into buildings or other physical objects under the right atmospheric conditions… it has a scientific explanation for the type of thing you are talking about…
so, not supernatural, but as a result of specific physical/geological/atmospheric conditions…
Yes i do believe that it is possible, and that there are very few that are open enough to experience this.
As for the scientific back-up..I dont know

Psychometry is just one of many human abilities that has been nearly breed out of existence by bigotry and (so called) witch hunts.
There has been extensive research into clairvoyance, it was established as a statistical fact back in the 50’s. In fact, parapsychologists have been working on how and why it works ever since then and leave the “if” questions for parties and forums like Y!A (Pocket book of Parapsychology, 1985).
The problem with any psychic abilities is that though they can be proved statistically and over long term research, they are utterly unreliable on a short term “useful” basis.
ADD: Increasingly psychologists have been accepting that low self esteem can lead to unconscious self-sabotage. Since psychic ability has been proven to be controlled by the subconscious mind, there is a strong indication that psychic ability combined with self anger has a detrimental effect on a person’s success and long term survival.
Actually yes. I don’t know if there is credible scientific evidence but I have seen it done and the people I saw do it were right.
Well I can compare this to research done on DNA memory. That is that certain people have memory input on their DNA. For example, kidney recipiants some times have dreams or memories about events that happened to their donors. Also, the instinct theory is similar. That is from birh, we have enough memory to instinctually know how to eat and how to protect ourselves. Some animals have even more evidence of instinct.
So how does this play into psychometry. Well if memory can be passed by DNA, maybe memory remnants can be passed on through other forms of matter as well. Someone who’s brain is focused on the right frequency might be able to pick that up.
There’s also been studies to show that psychic visions, premonitions and other psychic phenomena is frequent when people;s brain wave frequency is closer to the Delta brain wave than the normal alpha and beta waves.
I think it is a form of intuitive contact, but I doubt very much there is anything scientific to back it up. It’s either there or it isn’t. Maybe some people know how to fake it, but I do believe some people really can do it. I know a lady who reads all sorts of things off stones and crystals and things, and often her readings are surprisingly accurate. I gave her a bunch of crystals that had belonged to my dead husband, and she could feel quite a lot from them which I knew to be accurate. But how would we prove such a thing?
I have Psychometry.
I once stole a male model’s underwear and used my psychometry. What can i say? Im a voyeur!
