I have been listening to Jose's primal beta beat for a number of years and like the way he keeps things simple. It really is just me, myself and I alone in this world first. Once we accomplish our own connection to what matters then we are ready better able to include others in our world.

Personally I 'go to level' to level myself - not for any other purpose. Once I'm done, usually 20 minutes, I just feel balanced and more alive. Like anything, I take this process in moderation and don't expect too much. Then I'm satisfied with the results.

It would be fascinating to fast forward another century to see how far along we - as a species - will have evolved in mind control - or as I call it - mind connection. To me it's really all about making that clear connection between myself mentally and physically. We have so many outside forces pulling us in all directions that it's far too easy to follow misdirected paths.

As we age the more opinionated and rutted we get. By going to level and focusing on relaxation, I find the peace and tranquility missing from most of life. Opening up inside allows me to open up better to my world.

Jose Silva Jr. documented much of his father's pioneering research, and has been his biggest supporter ever since they took the work public more than 40 years ago.

Joe Jr. has been the one constant factor in the business since the beginning, and was chosen specifically by his father to look after his estate and the new business that features the culmination of more than half a century of research and experience: Jose Silva's UltraMind ESP System.

This book includes chapters written by Jose Silva before his death, as well as chapters from prior books that are now out of print. A fabulous source of authentic, valuable, information and guidance.

Hint: The new MentalVideo technique is the best one that Jose Silva ever developed, it is what he had been seeking for a long time... and anybody can use it, even if you don't know how to go to the alpha level. Check it out, you will be glad that you did.

First of all, I was in shock over a negative review earlier. The attitude sounded to me like alot of overlay of the person's life, and alot of negative connotations were placed in it where none existed.

As for the book itself, it is an excellent introduction to The Silva Ultramind System. I have had alot of experience with it over the years, and it has never failed me.

Joe Jr. and Ed Bernd brought out the basic training and explanations of going to the Alpha level, as well as what it can be used for. Try it for yourself. You can never get an accurate idea of what this is until you try it yourself. The CD that comes with the book is an EXCELLENT way to start the learning process.

Many people have "borrowed", stolen or otherwise used The Silva Method, but the original is still the best. I have been to several Self-improvement courses over the years, and many of them used the Silva Deep Relax almost word for word.

I use it daily for myself both for physical and mental health. Comes in handy at work when you have to make split second decisions that could save or cost someone their life.

I highly recommend this book for both the novice and the experienced Silva practioner.

If you read a book by Jose Silva Sr. you get details an meat. But unfortunately, Jose Jr. is a far cry from what his father had begun. Jose Silva Jr. has taken over the business and has succeeded in watering down, deluting and destroying his father's research. I would never buy another book by Jose Jr. because this one is nothing more than a oversized sale pitch on why you need to take a very expensive Silva Method course. It even tells you in the book that you cannot do some of the things it details without first finding an instructor and taking the course. A complete waste of time and paper!!! If you want to learn the Silva Method, read Jose Sr. because his son is a money hungry crack pot that spit all over his fathers work and dream.

Wow. I had high hopes going into this, being a lifelong student of metaphysics and having read the original Mind Control book recently and being eager to see how the method and its philosophies had evolved since then.

Not nearly enough, is the answer to that. In fact, there is rampant evidence of dangerous backsliding. The only reason I gave it one star is that Amazon wouldn't allow me to give it ZERO.

In the original work, I had been shocked to see that Silva advocated for people to program themselves to put the happiness of their spouses before themselves, and to program their children for whatever behavior they wanted to see from them. I had also been annoyed by the way the book warns you, over and over, not to 'play doctor' but to merely program for others to find good medical help, rather than to be healed. I expected the new book to have evolved past all of this, but rather than finding evolution, I actually found devolution!

1. The book sees women as responsible for cooking for the family, and that they have a deeper responsibility in that they need always to put loving intentions into the food, too. It does not say that anyone who cooks should do that, it says mothers.

2. The book also includes a sickening chapter written by a Silva graduate who is also a psychiatrist, who believes his Higher Intelligence has led him to conclude that mothers seeking any kind of independence for themselves are the cause of schizophrenia, anxiety, phobias, depression, and even autism. It actually comes right out and says that the alarming rate of the rise of autism is directly correlated with women moving into the workforce! And the book endorses these sexist, misogynistic ideas by proudly publishing them! Could this be because Jose Silva was abandoned by his own mother at age six and forced to work to support his family? He even advocates putting children to work as early as two years old, rather than allowing them to simply focus on play to develop their knowledge of the world.

3. The book also still says that the way to have a happy marriage is to program yourself for your partner's happiness before your own, and for your partner to do the same, and to ignore it when you feel yourself drawn to other people or activities outside the marriage. This advocates ignoring your soul's call to evolve and take you to your next level of growth, which may and often does include leaving your present partner and situation behind. Jose, Jr. says that the proof of the wisdom of this is that his father was married for fifty years and raised ten children. Could this be because he programmed his wife to stay married to him, keep a good house, and to act as brood mare?

4. The book claims that we are not here to pursue our own happiness and health, but to focus exclusively on that of others, even to the point that we should not ask to be paid for the healing and other psychic work we do. Jose, Jr. makes confused and obviously misguided statements such as, "My father never took a penny for his efforts; he was happy to do it." As if you can only accept payment for things you are not happy to do. And as if accepting money for his classes, his writings, and his other tools isn't the exact same thing, anyway.

5. In the misguided and revolting chapter on relationships, there is not one mention of samesex partnerships, or even the inclusive language of 'partner' rather than man/woman husband/wife. And the book advocates programming your spouse, your boss, your friends, your neighbors, DEFINITELY your children, and in fact, anyone with whom you interact so that it comes out the way you want it to. It rationalizes that this is fine as long as you program that things will come out best for everyone involved. It also makes the erroneous, in fact absolutely ridiculous claim that you cannot do harm to another at a distance with your mind, only within 100 feet of them. It makes other muddled and mistaken statements about working with the energy of others at a distance, because obviously Jose, Jr. doesn't even understand his father's work and thus just parrots a bunch of cobbled-together sections without realizing they contradict one another.

6. The book characterizes learning to relax and find your alpha level as incredibly difficult and time-consuming, and over and over it is implied that since Silva spent so many years researching and refining his techniques that we should never, ever question them under any circumstances. It includes several self-limiting statements that warn us to 'never expect this' and 'this will always be this way' and 'this is universal law and cannot change' even while at the same time telling us it is only beliefs which limit us. It even states clearly that when you are taught in a seminar, your mind is 'guided' by the instructor's mind. Yes, I think I now see more clearly what kind of 'guidance' I might get there. The kind cults use to further their agenda with their followers. The kind Jose Silva, Jr. experienced at the hands of his father, thus stifling his ability to see how counterintuitive much of these backward, negative statements are and how they are in absolute opposition to the very teachings themselves.

7. In perhaps the most disturbing and most illuminating sections of the book, over and over we are encouraged, even persuaded, to program our children. In fact, we are told to start before birth, deciding what profession we want our child to go into, based on remote viewing the future and choosing a profession that will be doing well fifteen years into the future. Then we are told to continue to program for that outcome throughout the child's life, inundating him or her with things related to this profession, and programming our children to be obedient, to respect authority, to be good students, to be good workers, and just to basically be anything we want them to be.

I say this is illuminating because I believe this is why the Silva Method has not evolved as it naturally would. Jose Silva is dead now and it is his son who is now carrying on the teachings. And his son has never learned to think for himself and thus does not have adequate discernment to see that his father's philosophies need some serious examination and adjustment. Rather than re-exploring his father's work in his own words to a whole new audience, Jose, Jr. patches together word-for-word writings of his father and others, demonstrating a kind of blind worship for (but lack of actual understanding of) his father's writings that is, I believe, the result of the years and years of programming.

Yes, Silva brought us information on how to access the power to program our own subconscious, but many of his teachings remained fixed, shortsighted, and even destructive. This book is an obvious demonstration of what happens when we impose our will upon others rather than allowing things to be guided by our souls to the highest outcome. I also believe that no one has ever challenged these backward ideas because Silva instructors have been taught and yes, programmed not to. The natural evolution of something which once brought enlightenment to an uninformed public has been curtailed by misuse of the information, and is now not only outdated, but destructive.

And I'm wondering why the other nine children of his that Jose Silva programmed are not as enthusiastically involved with the family business. Could it be that they have escaped the decades of programming are now pursuing their own souls' paths away from this decaying tradition?

I am absolutely passionate about teaching people how to access their own power to program themselves for a better life, and to recognize all the myriad of instances where they are being programmed for a worse one, and I will take what Silva has to offer that is of benefit and leave the rest, including this book which I feel is so detrimental I will be destroying it rather than trading it in.

If you want a truly enlightened take on programming your subconscious, I recommend Margo Adair's "Working From the Inside Out." She is a Silva graduate who went on to evolve the method and bring it to a higher, more approachable, and completely non-harming level that recognizes the power and wisdom inherent in all of us. It is her work I will aspire to emulate, and I will not, as I had originally planned, be continuing on with any further Silva training (programming).

If you want a truly enlightened take on programming your subconscious, I recommend Margo Adair’s “Working From the Inside Out.” She is a Silva graduate who went on to evolve the method and bring it to a higher, more approachable, and completely non-harming level that recognizes the power and wisdom inherent in all of us. It is her work I will aspire to emulate, and I will not, as I had originally planned, be continuing on with any further Silva training (programming).
